The small
size of the Palm and Pocket PC PDA screen has always limited its practical use in high
volume data collection situations - until now.
Group Timer is designed to record and time the activities of up to 50 subjects
simultaneously while allowing you to gather detailed information on the characteristics of
the tasks being performed. Everything about Group Timer has been designed with rapid,
accurate data collection in mind by using a single screen with lists, pop ups and simple
button selections.
The subjects of a Group Timer study can be anything e.g. people, equipment, locations
- or any combinations of these. The program does not use cryptic numerical codes but fully
descriptive entries. Therefore, if you are studying Tom, John and Richard, their names
will be displayed on the screen.
The activities in the study can be tasks, conditions, states, etc. Full descriptions
are used - not codes. On screen you will see a real-time updated list of which activities
each subject is performing at that point.
In addition to subjects and activities you can also define any characteristics that
you wish to monitor during the course of the study. To support rapid data entry, you can
select from lists or use popup keypads.
You can also attach your own notes to each transaction. We have found that during most
studies, the same conditions tend to repeat again and again. Therefore, as notes are
entered, each unique note is saved to a table for instant selection the next time that
condition occurs.
As each transaction is made, the exact start and end times are saved along with all
the transaction details. You are therefore provided with a complete time log of the entire
study.
Finally, the data from Group Timing studies is loaded directly into Microsoft Excel
where you can use our default reports and use your own Microsoft Excel skills to summarize
the data meet your exact needs.
